We had some great classes in May, now it's time for some more! We will be offering the following firearms training courses during the month of June.
Basic Handgun Operation June 19th and June 25th Women Only Basic Handgun Operation June 18th Basic Rifle Operation June 26th Downloadable PDF's with course descriptions and required materials can be found here http://www.controlledchaosarms.com/training.html To contact us and enroll in one or more classes, please fill out the form found here http://www.controlledchaosarms.com/contact.html The above courses are each $150+applicable range fees. Again, the handgun courses more than meet the training requirement for an Iowa Weapon Permit. We take a hands on approach to training and guarantee you will be better prepared to defend yourself after our course. Thanks for all of your support and we look forward to seeing you out there! |

Couple questions I didn't see answered in the course brochure...
1) How many students per class? b) In regards to handgun, what is "proper" holster? Simply one that "fits" the gun correctly, or are you looking for a certain "type", ie., kydex, anything BUT leather, etc....? Thanks! |

As far as holsters go, you will need something good quality(leather, kydex, etc) that fits the weapon. I'm not particular about brand, style, etc. We just don't want people showing up with the $5 gunshow special holster and having weapons popping out onto the ground all day long. |

If there is rain before your class you will really want a shooting mat, if not then a large piece of carpet. The center lanes usually dry well but the end ones retained the water when I was there. Enjoy the class, make sure your firearm is reliable. This is the paramount pre-class need. Be familiar with your weapon will keep the class from waiting on you. There is no need to be zeroed, first thing they are going to do is mechanical zero your iron sights. If you have a front site tool, bring it and keep it in your pocket, may want to mark it when loaned out as well. If you have multiple mags, preload, there is time between coursess of fire, but if you are not stuffing mags, then you get to nag the instructors for war stories. Complimenting Rick on his hair, whether true or not, will gain you brownie points. For Romp, bring him some dip. |

"the big springs range complex" ––- OK I give up WHAT CITY is this in ??????? It is near Searsboro IA, which is just south of Grinnell. Here is a link to the directions listed on their website. http://www.bigspringsrange.com/directions.php |
|
Another link for help. http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=qxw685788n4f&lvl=15&dir=0&sty=b&where1=Searsboro%2C%20IA&q=Searsboro%2C%20Iowa&form=LMLTCC See the Yellow L shapes to the right (east) of Searsboro, that is it. Entrance is common to the house, then veer to the right through the steel gates. If you zoom in enough, you see Romper mooning the satellite on the right 50 meter range. |
