Ok so I know at least one of yall saw my thread about getting my daughter her very first pocket knife. She loves to be like me as much as she can so I got her one similar to one of mine

Now I know you can color guns but can it be done to a knife ? Does anyon hear have experience with this ?  I would like to make hers pink to keep with her theme, she has a pink cricket and a pink taurus. And as of now (shes 6) she wants a pink panther tattoo the day she turns 18 .

I'd say duracoat but is seems like a lot of trouble for a $5 knife

Its the sentimental factor. Dura coat is what people use to make funky colored glocks an such right ? And it was $10 if she proves her self with this one theres a pink and black benchmade thats pretty sweet.

I think I picked mine up for $5... you got screwed lol

the issuewith duracoat is unless you have an airbrush setup it will cost you a good $100 at least to get set up for your first batch.

it's good stuff though.

I've been thinking about trying my hand at it now that I have mastered the rattle can

You could anodize, at least the handles, for pretty cheap by doing a search on the interwebz for a "how-to".  Harbor Freight has a pretty sweet powder-coating set-up for not too much $$.

Or, you could do it right and get it Cerakoted

Wow, wtf guys. Not everything has to be mission-capable. The knife will probably be lost in a few weeks anyways.

Get a can of spray paint and some sandpaper. Use them. If she keeps it to where it rubs off, use the same $3 can of spray paint and/or upgrade her knife.

Get some saracha and draw something on the blade and it will VERY lightly etch a pattern into it. Google patina.

Im sure your best friend would help you out....CCA Services

my vote goes to a nice rattle can job... clean the surface well, ruff up the material a little bit, clean again???, shoot thin even coats, repeat last step as many times as needed, shoot it with some clear coat, and you should be good to go....
