| I went through my reloading supplies and found that I have boxes of primers over 10 years old, just checking to see if anyone knows how long the primers can be stored and used. Also, found several cans of powder, that are over 10 years old, any thoughts on using the powder that has been stored. |
| If neither has been stored where they have been exposed to extremes of heat, or exposed to moisture both should be good for a very long time. If the primers look normal they should be fine and if the powder looks normal and has no red colored dust it should also be fine. I have a few not often used primers and small quantities of powder that are at least that old and they are fine. |

These guys do not know what they are talking about. Give them to me, and I will dispose of them safely. ;) Seriously though, I'm down to 400 LR primers and they're like 15 years old and not giving me any problems. I wouldn't worry about it at all. |
