I purchased my first AR-15 (Bushmaster M-4) a few weeks ago and I am looking for a tactical scope for my rifle. I would like to find a scope that would possess the capability to shoot 50 yards to 300 yards. I would also like it to be small in length but possess the desired range. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First Welcome to the site and to the Iowa Hometown Forum!

Have you read the stickys at the top of the AR15 Optics, Mounts and Sights forum? There is a lot of info in the rest of the threads also. There are any number of optics that can fulfill the requirements you state. The big question is just what kind of accuracy are you looking for and at what range do you require that accuracy.

Go to the link below and read the stickys first. Then look for threads of interest. I hope this helps. If you have already read them and still have questions that is the best place to get good answers. Not that we can't help you here but you should will find a bigger cross section there.

what is your budget?

there are many that will serve that role well.  ACOG is one the more expensive of those i'd recommend.  the eotech now builds one with dots for aiming out there...

also, if you're looking for a variable scope i hear lots of good about the millett unit in 1x4mag.  it is being used by a lot of hobby and weekend shooters...

there are many more of course...  your budget really makes an impact on this.
