i ordered my MCS-T1 today from manners composite stocks. i added a few features, that i think will fix it up nice. i also sold my 700 stock (pending funds) to a nice fellow. looks like 308 shooting will be on the back burner for a while. i suppose this is a good reason to crank up the 7mag... hmmm.... i reckon i'll do just that. anybody down with the sickness in a couple weeks fer some thootin'??? Manners Composite Stocks Tom builds the rifle rest i want as well, i just can't give him $800 for it... i suppose i could, but i've been researching what it takes to build one... |

i'll swap my gear over to the 7mag. i have a 20MOA rail back ordered for it, i suppose it could pull the order and buy another brand... i suppose i will. i'll fire up the 7 for a while until the other goodies get here. i'll have a surprise or two for you... i've got some pretty neat stuff coming. i have to say, the folks at manners, primarily tom, were pretty good to me. they were helpful, suggestive, and they have literally tailored the stock to my needs, shooting style, cosmetic desires, action, bottom metal, barrel channel, etc. i'm really looking forward to getting it. now i just need a scope for either the 308 or the 7mag. i'm hoping to pick up an IOR 3-18, but time will tell. i saw a mark 4 6.5-20 the other day for $700... i missed it. it sold quick. i'll get geared up and we'll warm up a few. i can get my poop in a group and be ready. man i can hardly wait. this is the longest i've gone without shooting a rifle in quite some time. i haven't pulled a live round since the first week of january... |
i'm good with ammo. i built several hundred rounds of high BC stuff about four years ago when i shot my 7 all the time. i have lots of loaded precision stuff to burn through. thanks though... all the more reason with a rifle, loaded precision ammo, and everything it takes with the exception of a scope, that i'd get on the ball. looks like this is a great opportunity. |
