if that range works out the way they want it looks like it might turn out to be a great place...

ETA: and if those course costs stay about that for a 3 day I might make a camping trip out of a visit.....

good to see some feedback from a Dakotan. Your post here and some emails I received inspired me to make some changes to the side(namely mentioning that primitive campsites will be available nearby), including a FAQ page. Thanks for that!

Feel free to join the client list and/or throw out any suggestions you may have. MWTS encourages open communication with it's clients.

thanks for the positive feedback, you should all feel free to sign up on the client list(no charge and no obligation) if you have any interest in ever taking a course.

the reception here was much warmer than in the colorado forum. (take a look over there if you like, its actually rather entertaining) i am ceaseing to attempt to attract colorado based clients. im sure they are not all bad eggs, but im afraid they are all guilty by association.

as well, any feedback on course curriculum, what you would like to see, or commentary, feel free to contact me.

John,

I want to make sure this thread doesn't die.  How are your plans coming along?

I apologize for the slow response, as I have been a little busy lately.

I am currently beginning initial sub-course "proofing." I am using soldiers as guinea pigs, so the real proofing won't happen until my first civilian students. I also have several colleagues assisting and advising on the content and context of the curriculum.

If you are confused right now, this basically just means: curriculum is established, just some final tweaking, rehearsals, and "human" testing going on. This will be an ongoing process for the next several months. More detailed course curriculum may be posted on the site, once proofing is deemed complete.

I have been pricing and ordering several things from my long list of training aides that I must accumulate. My prototype for the portable reactive targets is being made right now, and steel targets are on order.

Other than that, things are going well. What I could use help with is finding a suitable range near the Sioux Falls area for mobile training. I need a >600yrd course of fire, and they need to allow use of steel and reactive targets as, well as a portable omni-directional shoot house. If anyone here knows of such a place, please let me know.

Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

If you have any desire to expand into western South Dakota shoot me an email some time, maybe we can work somthing out. This should give you an idea how much space we have.

Just to clarify, I seem to remember it fell through for lack of participants though, not due to the range not being workable. Correct ?
They gave us the upper part of the range as well as the IPSC part.
Big Sioux was very cooperative. The weather.... not so much. It was kinda fun rinsing the mud out of mags in a puddle.

Tim, there's way more to that story, but essentially yes, that is correct.
