There is a range in East GF, and there is The Forks Rifle Club SW of Grand Forks.  The Forks club requires membership, I'm not 100% sure about the EGF club, you may be able to buy a day pass or something.  The Forks club is a high power range with 100, 200, 300, and 600 yard firing points.  I'm not exactly sure about the EGF range, however they do a lot of IDPA/ 3-gun type stuff there.

go to buxton, ill have to get specific directions for you, its an old range, no owners no nothing, just show up shoot and clean up after yourself.

if you take I 29 south and take the buxton exit, and turn right follow that road a ways and there will be a dirt road that has a telephone pole with a sign that has a large K on it, take a left on that street and the range is like 500 feet on your left.  there is a small shed and some shooting benches.

I think its about 20 miles south of grand forks and maybe 4 miles  west of I 29

its about what you would expect from a range that has no official organization for upkeep, but the few pro-gun groups up here at UND try to go down and clean up the range and fix up the benches and what not.

I'd say quite a bit more than 500ft. Just keep going until you see the little bldg on the left side. Can't really miss it.
