I am a resident of Texas using an Arizona CCW permit.
What do I need to do to carry in Michigan during a visit?
TIA for any help with this.

Incorrect. We do. However your residency thing may be a problem since you are using a Arizona permit as a resident of Texas. As indicated the law in MI reads "(h) A resident of another state who is licensed by that state to carry a concealed pistol.". Since your residency is in Texas and CPL is in Arizona, may cause you a problem if stopped by LE or you actually need to use your firearm.

If you are a resident of another state who is licensed by that state to carry a concealed pistol, Michigan will recognize your permit. However, you must carry in conformance with any restrictions appearing on your license and you are subject to Michigan's concealed pistol laws including, but not limited to, restrictions on where a concealed pistol may be carried. Non-residents should become familiar with Michigan’s laws before carrying a concealed pistol in this state.

Engel was referring to the information you posted I believe. He just didn't explain it, and I'm sure the OP didn't understand the background.

MI does recognize CCW permits (we call them CPLs for concealed pistol licenses) from other states; however, the permit must be issued by your state of residency. Your AZ permit will not suffice since your legal residence is in TX. If you had a TX CCW permit or moved your residency to AZ, you'd be GTG and just have to follow MI's concealed weapons laws.

Yeah that's what I meant. Michigan recognizes the licenses of EVERY SINGLE STATE, but you need to live in the state where CPL is from.

Doesn't make any sense to me, but that's the way it is.
