Well it seems that Walgreens is added to my places of not to shop/work at due to them firing an employee because he was carrying a gun and saved lives.  It happened it Benton Harbor.  I can't get a link to the article because the news page requires membership.  You can google it though and find out some information about it.  The guy saved some lives.

Search the GD.  The Herald Paladium article was in it a week or two ago.

Try finding any publicly traded company that doesn't have a corporate weapons policy.

Glad no one was hurt, jobs come and go.  He's a pharmacist - will find another.

I think the idea behind these policies is they don't want employees risking their lives or customer's lives over a cashbox or stolen merchandise.  In this case, the guy wasn't trying to be a hero.  He was protecting his life.  You'd think a dead employee would be worse press than an employee being canned for defending himself.

I heard about this right after it happened.  I won't bring my business there either.  Just not shopping there isn't enough though, you have to write the company and tell them.

Sad thing to hear was that this store had been robbed before, and little was done by the company to improve security there.

Fuck that, as long as it's not posted, I'm going to open carry in each one in my town.

I've never shopped at Walgreens for the past decade. For prescriptions I just go to Meijer. I found out that the prices are pretty much all the same, plus your co-pays are fixed anyhow. It's not like a generic/brand name med at Wal-Mart is going to be different from the one at Meijer, Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, or K-Mart.

I just found out that Meijers sometimes gives gift cards with a prescription refill.  I got a $20.00 gift card last month and a $10.00 gift card this month.

Good to know. Of course, being healthy also helps

Hmmmm, 200 a month for insurance through the Guard.... and never using it, or go to the Doc at the RediMed maybe once a year, if that, and pay cash......

It's nice not having kids

It's good to have insurance.  My kidney stone which I was in the ER for four hours it was a $4000 bill if I didn't have insurance.

But now, with our new communist overlords, I can get insurance right before going to the ER
