I brought up to one of my co-workers that I thought it might actaully work to hunt Coyotes with my 44 Mag Blakhawk. I have used it for deer hunting, it's the model with a 7.5" barrel with a red dot sight. He thought I was nuts to even consider it. What do the resident coyote experts think? I figured in Michigan that the shots might not be that far out if you were wearing camo and using a electronic caller.
Am I nuts? |

Nuts? No.
Coyotes are very skidish animals. If you dont feel armed enough with a 44 than I dont know what firearm can help you. It would be a challege to get the Yote in range with an iron sight handgun but not impossible. Would make for a good hunt. You would have to make use of every hunting skill you have, camo/cover/wind/location/stealth, to get them that close. Do a search on Youtube for a bunch of up close Yote kills. |

Not gonna candy coat it, it will be VERY difficult to get a yote in handgun range. BUT if you do, you are da man! Maybe a pop up blind that is brushed in very well may help.
My goal is to shoot one with a my bow some day (not while deer hunting in a stand, but while actually hunting yotes) J- |
