ARnutt,

This is a very compelling video and it certainly makes a strong argument for the right to bare arms. Sooo therefore having the right to protect oneself is very important. Although this is not a clear argument to me but rather a complicated one in that the right of the "people" to bare arms is too ambiguous for me. There are many people in this world and they are not all programmed the same so the definition of "protection" could be subject to the individual. If there were some certainty that people who carried the same responsibility as you or even Suzanna this would all make a lot of sense. Then I think of the people who have guns for a different purpose and they are also considered "the people" according to our rights. So yes I can see your argument for protection and applaud you for taking such a responsibility soo seriously. But unfortunately in this world how do you manage the people who do not choose to educate themselves as you have.

People who bare arms with the intent of having power over people really send a bad stereotype for guns and the possession of them. Okay so how do you ensure that the people feel that guns are for protection rather than power and if that could happen wouldn't we live in world were people were dangerously skeptical of each other? How would you account for the person who accidently shoots someone because they were scared or better yet could it be possible for people to lie about self defense as well. Just my thoughts. I actually did like the video, it just raised a lot of questions for me:)

Sincerely,
Skeptical friend

I'm not sure exactly how I should respond to this email.  This is a return email from the wife of a pro-gun friend of mine who isn't convinced about the need for the 2nd Amendment.  I emailed her the video of Suzanna Hupp describing her parents death.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Tell her that "the right to bare arms" carries with it the grave responsibility to use enough sunscreen.

First of all it's "BEAR" arms, not bare.

Second I have to work so I'll respond directly to the e-mail later.

The second amendment as I understand it is to protect against a corrupt government as well as criminals. Sort of a balance in a way. The way our country had been birthed it was absolutely important we have those rights. In this day and age it maybe more important as things can change very quickly and very drastic. With so many more people now, with techology as it is, with so many angered and cruel ppl, I don't think I want to be a victim. Maybe mention about how it all began, the Revolution of our great Nation. Gives me chills to think about the sacrafice and fore thought these great men had. A&E had a show called the Revolution, what a great show. Humbled me as we can only aspire to be great, theses men were great! Alot of thought was given by many people to create our Constitution and our rights were given alot of thought. If she wants to be a victim that is her right.

Oh yea, if that don't convince her tell her about the Zombie effect.
