Do any of you guys have incorruptible A/C service, where the power company can duty cycle your A/C in return for lower power rates?
Does it cost much to get installed, or does the power company pay for it? Are there any tax incentives? |

LOL my last house had it for the A/c and for the electric hotwater heater. It was like that when I moved in so not sure about the initial cost or savings. For what it is worth I can not remember a single time of them cycling my stuff off, atleast while I was home. J- |
| I'm an electrician working for a small company in Ann Arbor. I work mainly in a DTE area so some of what I'm telling you will only apply to them. The power company will likely only do the final part of the install re: the radio control unit. You will need to have an electrician install a second meter can, an ac-10 box and a disconnect which will probably run you somewhere in the $300 to $500 range, before they will show up to install the RCU. |
| I would never have it again. They would shut my A/C off for 6 to 8 hours at a time. Yes, it was that long because I timed it. I called and bitched and all I got was the run around. I sold the house and never had it installed on the new one about five miles away. |
