I was listening to sports talk radio this afternoon and they talked about the Lions. Something like in the LAST 40 years, the Lions have been to the playoffs once or twice. If New Orleans makes it to the Super Bowl, the Lions will be the ONLY non-expansion team to have never been to a superbowl. I just kinda laugh. I'm 28 years old, so I should have alot of years left. It's funny though, I don't think I will live long enough to see the Lions goto the Super Bowl. |

Does anybody wonder just WHY the Lions just cannot NOT suck? I mean, after all these decades, with all the different coaches, players, venues, etc, it's hard to imagine that any professional team in a popular sports market wouldn't have just "lucked" into a good team, even if they were trying to suck? It just seems impossible.
I grew up in the 60's when the Tigers were king, the Wings and Pistons have always been good, if not championship teams, but the Lions....well, you know. It's amazing that a team THAT bad still has fans, but they do, and I'm still one of them, even though I haven't lived in Michigan for years. |
