Your local PD or State Police Office can confirm for a $1.00 fee.
You will not receive a green card.
Most States don't issue them. We've been trained that we need one. It may be hard to get over.

For me, the hard part to get over is that the change to the law was so poorly written/handled - there is no requirement for PD's to provide proof that you dropped off the form and complied with the law.  Even if you send the form via a signature required delivery method, there is still no way to legally prove that the form was what you actually sent in the envelope.  If someone has a lazy or anti-gun PD, there is possibility for the system to be abused and it could cause issues for someone if their paperwork doesn't get received and processed properly.  We already know how many PD's were abusing the old system, so why would anyone believe they will magically comply 100% with the new system?

Some PD's are stamping the new forms as received and others are not.  I much preferred the law the way it was - the improvement is "the suck".

I should have stated that they will confirm registration only AFTER 30 days have past.

You're right Kevin, this legislation is a total piece of crap that nobody is pleased with.
The original intent was to do away with registration completely and this is what we end up with. Most or our legislators are morons, but we elect them.

I want the whole registration scheme to go away.

When you guy the weapon, you get three copies. Take them to the police station, give them the two copies they need and have the third one stamped for your records.

they wouldn't stamp my copy, and that is no proof it was entered

Some PD's seem to be doing this and some are saying they don't have to do anything and MSP is backing them, saying it is up to the local PD if they want to "offer proof" or not.

Like I said, for some, the new system might end up being worse than the old.  At least under the old system, there was proof of registration for everyone (green card that the PD had to fill out and sign).
