Well, I'm almost done with my first AR build.  I just need to put the barrel onto the receiver.  My armorers wrench should be here any day.  Now I just need an upper receiver action block to install the barrel.  I really don't plan on doing another build and would rather save the $40.  Does anyone around South East MI have an action block I could borrow or rent?  I promise I'll take good care of it.

All help appreciated.  Thanks.

Connect the upper to the lower, some wood in the mag well, put the wood in the vase, install barrel.

Or, buy the thing, then EE it.

Will I be able to torque it down enough by simply "putting wood in the magwell"  Doesn't sound safe or effective.

<––- Has installed dozens of AR bbls over the years.
<––- Thought he didn't need an action block since he never screwed anything up in the past.
<––- Crushed his friend's upper using improper equipment and technique.
<––- Finally bought an action block.  (...and a new upper for his friend. )

Moral of the story:  You may get away with cobbling something out of wood, but why risk it?
