A new revision of form 4473 should be in the hands of dealers now.
You'll be seeing it the next time you make a purchase.
Yellow form this time and it is a little easier for the applicant to fill out.
Instructions for question number 11. a. make it clear that it is perfectly legal to buy a firearm as a legitimate gift for a third party. it is not legal if the third party has provided the funds for the purchase.

Yes, provided it is a legitimate gift. The recipient would need to be at least 18 years old to obtain a permit in Michigan to legally register it.

Should also have a spot on there to allow transfer of a stripped receiver instead of declaring handgun/long gun.  That might make things easier when building an AR pistol, since the dealer won't have to claim it as one or the other.

Examples listed for for use in the "type of firearm" section now include "(pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, receiver, frame, ect.)"

....so I guess that's covered.

^ Yes, so really helps those in non-SBR states.
