The following is a notice from the BTPD looking for a suspect predator: The Bloomfield Township Police Department is investigating two incidents of a suspicious person approaching young children. The first incident occurred on Friday, September 14, 2007 at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the 5000 block of Kings Gate Way. Two young children were in a locked vehicle parked in the driveway when a male driving a black SUV parked behind them and approached the vehicle containing the children. He knocked on the window and pulled on the door handles but was unable to get inside. The male then left the area, driving south on Kings Gate Way. The mother of the children did not observe the incident as she had momentarily ran back inside the house. The second similar incident occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at approximately 12:00 p.m. A young girl was playing outside in the front yard in the 6000 block of White Pine Drive. A male driving a black SUV pulled in to the drive and held out a large cookie that appeared to be wrapped decoratively. He said nothing to the girl and appeared to be offering the cookie to her. The child ran immediately in to the house and told her mother. Both of these incidents are similar in nature and the same description was provided. Both incidents occurred in residential areas west of Telegraph Road between Lone Pine and 14 Mile Roads. The suspect is described as an 18 – 20 year old white male with a slight build. He is also described as having short spiked hair. In both cases the male was driving a newer dark colored or black SUV. After exhausting several leads we would like to release the attached composite sketch of a possible suspect in both of these cases. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the Bloomfield Township Investigations Unit at 248.433.7755 Composite sketch to follow later. |
