Ok, what's the BARE MINIMUM of gear to bring? I have an AR w/ 2 mags. No sling, no mag pouches, no dump pouch. AND Glock w/ 3 mags as well as holster and mag carrier. What else should I consider getting before the match and how much ammo for each weapon? Also, what time does the match usually wrap up? Hoping to make it out there, just want to make sure I'm squared away as best I can be. thanks!! |
| These questions are best answered on the ACTS forums. That said, your rifle MUST have a sling so you can transition between weapons as necessary. A tac sling of some kind is best as you can transition most easily with one of those. You can get by without the other gear, but extra AR mags and a pouch are helpful. Bring 200 rounds for the AR and 50 for the pistol and you'll have more than enough. |

I don't think I've ever shot more than 100 rounds. I have a spare dump pouch and a couple of AR mag pouches. I have an extra single point sling but not an extra mounting plate. Tactical Solutions and Operation Parts are always there if there's some piece of gear you feel like you just can't do without. Probably best to wait till you've done one to get gear so you can see what works, what you like, etc. Or you'll just end up with a box of stuff that doesn't work for you. |
Proceed with extreme caution. Once you come out to your first ACTS match you will be hooked. Feel free to email me if I can help with any gear you would like to borrow. Hope you can make it out this Saturday. John |
| Like the boys (and the Lady) said, we have loaner gear. Cheap, decent gear is available for sale, if you see something you like. I would borrow 2 more AR mags, at the least, and a sling, and you should be good to go. Steve always has a bunch of mags. Can't miss him. Look for the tallest guy. |
