Get a load of the guy that was in charge of securing one of our nuke plants. Makes me feel pretty safe knowing how thorough the screening process must be in hiring folks for a job like that. http://www.esquire.com/features/mercenary0607 |
| I don't know if outing a big fat liar is worthy of a mini-series. But if it takes a mini-series to draw attention to how little concern is payed to the safety of nuke plants then so be it. That joker should never have been in charge of a trip to the grocery store much less the security of a nuclear facility and storage site. |

Interesting piece of fiction. I have never known a true professional to ever talk about the things they have done. It kind of sounded a bunch of pieces of Robert Ludlum and Stephen Hunter books tossed into a blender. It did have me cracking up at the end though: "In April, Palisades Nuclear was bought by another firm, and Zeke’s future status was unclear. He told a colleague at the plant that he was going abroad again. He said he had to go to Afghanistan to “counsel” someone who had displeased the government. By “counsel,” he meant “kill,” and he asked if he could borrow the colleague’s gun. The colleague wondered why Zeke would want a gun, when he already had so many. “Plausible deniability,” Zeke said." Plausible deniability??? ROFL....classic! |
