Can anyone tell me why our supposedly gun friendly AG lets cities get away with breaking Michigan law? For example: The city of Wyoming's web site has a section on registring handguns. We all know registring handguns in Mi. is illegal. I'm sure that is being done all over the state yet Mike Cox does nothing to stop it. Why? He also has done nothing to stop all these local governments from implementing their own silly little gun laws. Like Kent County's requirement to either get two doctors to sign a paper saying you are not nuts or go before the gun board to get a CPL. Gun groups have had to sue to get this garbage stopped. Thank God they won the case against Kent County but I'm sure there are more cases of blatant abuse out there.

Sounds to me like Wyoming is just being up front about it.  Registration is being done all over the state, they just call a "Safety Inspection."

Why not ask your state rep to write him a letter asking him for his opinion of the topic regarding its legality?

You need to do some more research.  First off, the state told Kent County to stop the doctors note nonsense.  It dosnt happen any more.
Second, there is legislation in the works to eliminate the registration "safety inspection".

Mike Cox is still hard at work for us.  But so are our representatives.

The last I heard on the kent county thing was that MCRGO filed suit and won. I know when I was a member of that group they were asking for money to pay for that suit plus the others against cities that weren't following state law. I asked them at that time about Mike Cox and never got an answer. When I didn't renew my membership they wanted to know why so I told them about my question. The leaders promised me that I would get an answer but never did. If these people are working so hard for us then why has it taken so long to get anything done?

He's doing a pretty good job on a lot of other issues.
