I've been searching to see what the shooting requirements are to pass a ccw cert class and I've had no luck on finding the specifics. I've looked on MSP's site and a couple store sites that off classes. Anyone know what they are, or does it vary from class to class or instructor to instructor? Thanks matt |
Every Instructor does it differently! Look at this way, no teacher teach's the same...Now there is a required amount of time that you need for your Certificate. In my class you needed 100 rounds...and we shot with strong hand weak hand and blah blah....Dont worry Ant |

in my class each lane had a sheet of 8.5x11 paper that we shot at, but three or four people shared each lane, and throughout the range time, the paper was never changed. so basically the paper was just something to aim at, there was no analyzing of accuracy. |

None of the classes I've been involved with had any formal marksmanship requirtement. Safe gun handling is much more important.. Students having trouble hitting targets are provided with extra coaching. Occasionally a student will be asked to come back at a later date for additional training before receiving their certificate. I've only seen three students fail and all three were for unsafe gun handling. |

If you can't pass the shooting part you are either blind or should never touch a handgun. My total time actually trigger pulling on the range was about 15 seconds. The guy spent his time with the people that needed help, when we "qualified" I ran the mag, he came down saying quit spraying and praying and you have to have so many hits, looked at the target, laughed and said he'd shut the hell up now. I cheated, took a NMGC with Lasergrips. |
