Hey just bought a house in Spring Hill, leaving IL!!!!

So the area I am in everyone has charter for Internet and dish/direct for TV.. Charter offers TV in my area just wondering why it seems everyone is going with SAT for TV...

Haven't aske the neighbors as I won't close for another 30 days...

Thanks

It's a preference thing, satellite more fits my wants.  As a former Illinois resident, welcome!  I live just south of Springhill in Lewisburg and migrated from Danville Illinois to be here in 98.

Thanks... Can't wait to move.. We also looked in Lewisburg, but the distance to some health providers in Franklin and Nashville for my wife was to far, looking forward to getting out of IL, Taxes are through the roof...

Came home last night from our 5 day house hunting trip and even just getting off the plane at ORD just brought my mood down......

Thanks for the info... much appreciated

Welcome!

Knox here, but I bounce around between everything. I'm a promo-shopper.  Sign up for something to cash in for a year promotional price, then ride out the contract until I can switch to something else for a different promotion. If I wasn't a tight wad I would have stuck with Dish for TV. They offer the most HD Channels in my area.

I've had internet from Comcast for the past year and my $29/mo promotion was expiring. I moved into a promotion for bundled TV (basic economy package)  + Internet for like $44/mo for another year and got some free HBO too. The biggest downside is their lack of HD Channels unless you pay up.

I work with guys that have and like Charter's bundled service. I may check them out in a year after my Comcast promo expires. According to the salesmen at Comcast, they are no-contract - meaning you can drop them anytime. We'll see.

Yeah I need to look at AT&T because I called charter and they said the house I am buying does not have charter but I know the guy has Internet because I connected to his wifi while looking at the house... If its AT&T it makes it easy for since I already have them.

The charter is cheap but they want an extra 20 for a DVR

Charter customer service is near the worst in the industry.  That said, we have Charter Internet at work and have no issues.  I have AT&T internet at home, also with no issues.

AT&T is not available where I am at, found out the current service is through Dish for TV and Internet, Charter is available and the best Dish can give me for internet speed is 1.5mb...  I need more then that...

Glad I didn't buy the house in Hampshire no way I could get good speeds out there...

I am in spring hill and have AT&T but the neighborhood across the road from me doesn't have it. So you will need to check
