| Just saw a fella on FB say he was in there today and they had an M&P 15 marked at 1289.00. then the guy says he will take it.. clerk says hold on lemme dbl check the price... clerk came back and added 700 dollars to the sticker... WTF |
| ITs not the only place, I was in a shop the other day, that still had mags for sale, that put up a sign while I was there that they weren't selling them for a day, and that they would restart the next day. I am sure they just pulled them off the shelf to put them back up the next with higher prices. |

WTF That's just plain wrong. There is no "lemme check double the price" once someone has agreed to purchase it for the price marked on it. That is about as unscrupulous as a seller can get. $1289 for an M&P15 is bad enough as it is. Jacking it up another $700 is just a big "FU" from the seller. If he wants to charge way above list price for it, then fine put it on gun broker at list and let the stupid buyers run the price up. If they want to do that in their store then I will not be shopping there.
I am sick of all the panic buying crap and over inflated prices. If the Johnnie come lately buyers want to pay stupid prices for guns then so be it. I got mine and others had lots of time since 2004 to get theirs. Snooze you lose I guess. I'm glad to see the influx of new gun owners, but couldn't we welcome them aboard without the huge ass reaming? |
| Not dicks sporting goods. I was saying Outpost is a bunch of dicks. I used to get a bunch of stuff there. Last time I went there was in August and I got some BS because some blowout kits weren't priced. The employee came and asked if he could help me and I said "yes these blowout kits aren't priced" he said he'd go check. About 5 minutes later I go looking for him and he's leaning on the guncounter BSing with his buddy. I told the sales manager who had walked out to the floor and he too was also too busy to help. So I left. Haven't been back. I know about the panic, I can get by without anything outpost has. |
| They do have a good selection stuff, their prices are really high. I've only bought small items there that I didn't wait for shipping and didn't mind paying a few extra dollars for the convenience of getting that day. If their firearm prices were better I would spend alot more money there. |

Chris Barrett has to do something to occupy his time... I hope his father is proud. http://weknowmemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/son-i-am-disappoint-original.gif Where do you think Chris learned it from! When the Barret 50 caliber first came out it cost, WITH a PROFIT $450. ATF said increase the price or have it declared a DD. Ronnie caved and set the price iniatially at $2500.00 It wasn't until he started selling them to the military that the price went as high as it is. Look at what his cost is vs what he is charging the military for them. Price is MUCH less to build now as more it automated vs hand fitted. Same deal with the magazines. $1 to make and $110 price tag! |

I will have to check my receipt - but, I went in to pick up some 30rnd P-mags and some ammo the day after Sandy Hook. While I was there, I caught wind that they were printing up new signage for the ammo. Grabbed my 2 cases of Wolf and hit the point of sale before they could change it. For the record though, the P-mags were still $normal retail. I grabbed a dozen and headed for the door. I thought it was good fortune and then I learned later that MagPul frowns on price fluctuations on their gear. |
It's funny to me how many on this sight preach on the marvels of conservatism and capitalism... that is, until it involves the purchasing of firearm and firearm accessories. If the price is too high, don't buy. I guarantee it will come down. Many dealers are maximizing profit while they can because our govt might restrict their best selling items and thus creating possibly years of bad sales. Years of bad sales equals gun shops going out of business.

However, if you pulled something like that in your shop then you shouldn't be surprised if someone gets a case of the ass. I sure as hell would. |
| If the OP put a rifle on the EE priced at $1289 and then someone posted "I'll take it" and the op edited the price and said "Sold to Randomarfcommer for $1989" there would be an outpouring of folks calling for a ban for welching and his head on a stick. If outpost had it priced at $1289, that's the price they should have sold it for. That place has gone to hell since Ric left as sales mgr. |
