Gentlemen:
I received this today from the Tennessee Firearms Association's political action committee: This year, TFA's number one state race is Lt. Col. Courtney Rogers v Rep. Debra Maggart. Its the "make an example" race. TFA's PAC MUST
max out on that race to send a message. That is going to cost $7100. I am seeing very few PAC contributions this year for TFA. As much time and you and I put into TFA, that concerns me. We have about $4000 now. TFA needs to fully fund the Rogers' race at $7100 and I would like to support others who did carry some of our legislation (in good faith) like Sen. Beavers, Rep. Mattheny, Rep. Eldridge and others that you may suggest. I want to know how many will commit to make a contribution this week. That is significant b/c NRA has already given her funds and is flying Chris Cox in perhaps next week to meet her to hopefully make a larger commitment. TFA's commitment to $7100 will quite likely be matched by TFA is it is made by then and I think NRA may far exceed it with independent expenditures. TFA also has an opportunity to do a saturation radio campaign for 2 months at about $3000 and we also should consider a mailing (or 2) and even a phone bank the week before early voting starts. I want to make a challenge. I have already hit my limit on personal contributions to her race and I will commit to placing another $2000 in the PAC. It is my hope that it will be received as a call and challenge for matching funds. We must retake control and put conservatives, true conservatives, in the legislature. We must start with Debra Maggart. It is going to cost money but if we invest now we can have the credibility for years to come that we can put our money where our mouth is. I know that this is not possible for some. However, even for those, I am asking that your consider what you can do and do it. If nothing else, try to come up with 5 people who can make these kinds of commitments and commit to calling them and talking them into it. Protecting the 2nd Amendment and your constitutional rights takes more than the exercise of the 1st Amendment. Its time to invest. John Harris According to my basic math the TFA is looking for another $2 grand or so to be able to help candidates this primary election. After the primary they will need another 8 - 10,000 for the general elections. I am up to the challenge - the question is are you? I will donate $200 to the PAC. We need nine more of you to do the same. Will one of them be you? |

Thanks guys for your support. During a discussion today with John Harris of the TFA he told me there have been several contributions coming to the PAC from you guys. So - thank you. Every contribution, large and small, is needed and appreciated very much. The primary is in August and we need to ramp up our efforts. BTW, my contribution will be made next Tuesday at. the meeting.
