Yo, attention peoples with more practical 3-gun experience than me, i.e. just about everybody. Would this be a useful addition to a 3-gun rifle, or ....? From the Dillon Precision website: http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/pid/25884/catid/17/Noveske_K9_Barricade_Support Noveske K9 Barricade Support Stock Number: 11624The K9 was developed by the Noveske Shooting Team to address the problem with shooting off, through, and around flimsy or otherwise non sturdy barricades. The K9 also is very effective when used in port windows and doorways. Through stage design and course of fire (COF) freestyle rifle shooting is made more difficult by dictating which targets can be engaged through which ports and over what barricades. To add to the problem, ports are generally too low to kneel and too high to go prone and more often then not, too frail and inadequate to take shots out past 200 yards with any confidence. Another problem when bracing up against a barricade is the shooter must readjust the support grip and pinch the wall and forearm together to steady the rifle. This must be practiced against every style of barricade and material thickness presented in order to become proficient. The K9 addresses these problems quickly and effectively. When used as a brace or support the "teeth" bite into the barricades or ports positively allowing faster follow up shots. When anchored into a support structure, awkward positions are no longer an issue as the rifle is now solid and the flimsy barricade can now be pushed into position for steadier shots. The K9 also takes care of the problem with readjusting the support grip. The forward facing teeth allow the shooter to push the rifle into position without ever removing the grip on the forearm and start taking shots as soon as the sights are aligned. $49.00 ![]() Would definitely increase the tacticool factor of your rifle. I wonder how may calls Dillon got on that mount. I am sure somebody bought it because just because if it is expensive it must be good. It has been changed back to $14.99. Not a bad price for that type of mount. Reminds me of the old joke about the kid selling lemonade for $20 a glass. A man asks him how many he's sold so far & the kid says "None. But all I have to sell is ONE!" |

I think the K-9 is an awesome piece. It really helps with stabilizing on barricades. The problem is that some matches consider it a support device and that puts you in open class. Is it permitted to reposition a piece like that between stages to fit different barricades? |

HK, There's another piece that's similar to that which some guys used where I used to shoot down in FL.
We had better/sturdier window ports and this style worked okay for that use, the flimsy wall type barricades we have at MSSA these probably really wouldn't help all that much because it's the barricade itself that is moving around and not the rifle. I'd just use the support hand as a stop or hold off of the barricades (sometimes that's faster than trying to get a supported hold because the barricade isn't sturdy enough). on the other hand.....it does bolt onto a rail and it's only $50 |
