Visiting Chattanooga > Tennessee

Any recommendations on places to stay? Must see? Good eats? Places to avoid??

See tacked thread and then ask again if you don't see something that peeks your interest. As far as places to avoid. Your eyes are your best defense. Anything within a few blocks of the aquarium is cool (restaurants, hotels, etc)

Avoid any & all areas of MLK Jr. Blvd.

Places to see are Lookout Mtn., specifically Pointe Park. The battlefields are close by as is the National Cemetery. Ruby Falls never floated my boat, Rock City is okay. Not been to the Aquarium but everyone says it's pretty cool.

I try to find a mom-and-pop restaurant to eat at when I'm there, usually something I just stumble on.

The aquarium is top notch. I like cigars so I always go to Burns as well.

Train car room at the Chattanooga Choo Choo is always good for something a little different. The electric shuttle garage is next door, and will take you down to the waterfront/Aquarium area if you dont want to drive and park.

We stayed here for a friends wedding...it's a little outside of downtown but was good for the money even it looks like the area isn't that great. Our stuff was safe and the room was pretty sweet. Could save you some money from staying downtown and this is real close to Lookout Mtn, Rock City, Ruby Falls AND downtown (Aquarium, food, etc)
