Now that spring is upon us & one can now shoot w/o shivering, would anyone be interested in a .22LR (only) match? I'm thinking both rifle & handgun with separate classes for irons & optics in order to make things more even.

Maybe have separate classes for shooters under 16? Good way for a family shoot together, maybe even have a "family high score" catagory?

I should be able to get a section of the Hobson Pike TWRA Range reserved just for us. I was able to do this once before.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I like the idea.  Now that I'm more ambulatory, might even be able to attend!!!

Let me know what I can do to help out.

Bob , I've accualy been talking with the guy that does the IDPA matches at Maury Co. gun club and he's all for it . One of that main reasons is we can't shoot rifle calibers on the pistol ranges , and it would keep the cost of shooting cheap . He also said that sense it was my idea I get to get every thing thought out and ready . I'd be very interested in atteneding one before doing mine . I've been looking at late may early june as a possible date .

Well, I think I can rule out May for this one due to everyone needing some lead time in planning their schedule(s). I've got a FNRA banquet on 4 June, so it would be the middle of June before I could realistically see this one happening. Not to mention I also need to speak with the TWRA about reserving their 50 yard range before I do anything.

I did run the last one there & it went pretty smoothly, IMO. Hardly any fighting & name calling over the scorekeeping....................

But any thoughts on classifications?

I don't think it's right to shoot irons against optics in either rifle or handgun, IMO. Some might worry with the Marlins/Rugers shooting against the Anschutz's, the Buckmarks against the S&W 41's. Not sure there's much I can do on those points, IMO. But I'm always willing to listen to suggestions.

Just happened to get to the range today to try out my new CZ 452 Target. Here's my result @ 50 yards with the first 5-shot mag after I got the scope dialed in. Probably won't be good enough to use in a match, I guess?
