How far is long for you?  AEDC has matches scheduled all through the year for 1000.  Oak Ridge has arguably one of the nicest ranges in the country and they run matches constantly as well.  Maury County Gun Club has a 200 yard range.  I don't know how far Owl Hollow goes.  Might be able to get on Campbell too, at least you used to be able to.

+1 for Oak Ridge. It's about an hour drive for me.

There's a range in Park City, KY....about a hour away....with a 1500 yard range.

I've not been there...just heard about the range from someone at a 3-gun match a couple of months ago.

I'm just wanting to practice. I know they have F class matches at AEDC. I'm just not sure I"m up to that challenge quite yet. 1000 would be the maximum for now. It's just hard to find the right place to go shoot/test.

I think youre talking about Rockcastle Shooting Center. I'm not sure they are up and running with that range yet. Maybe after the first of the year.

TWRA Montgomery County complex.  400 yard range.

I haven't been there, yet, so the above link has more information than I can provide.

I'm wanting to get into the long range game soon and would also like to find a decent place to shoot too.

Would be nice if there was a good 1,000 yard range available for use, but I suspect the combination of the cost of having that much land set aside for that (not to mention the problem of finding suitable land) and the cost of insurance, would not be offset by the number of people willing to pay to see just how well their rifle does at 600 yards or more.

I went to the Barrett Mammoth Sniper Challenge over the weekend. I am happy to report that the 1000+ range is open but you have to call Rock Castle Shooting Center for an appointment. They have leased it to some "Industry" people for testing weapons. Just call ahead to use the range. Cost is $10/hr!!!!!!! Rock Castle is on Facebook too. Check out the picture I took of my wife shooting the Barrett MRAD .338 Lapua Magnum. Sorry guys can't post the pics now. I don't have access to image hosting at work.

You have to be an ID card holder. Active Duty, Family member, retired military, DA civilian, etc. Any firearms brought on post have to be registered with the provost Marshall's office. There is a building right outside gate 4 where this can be done.

Not sure how it works with guests. I had my Dad out there when my parents visited, and I had a member of the SIG forum out there but he is LEO. Never seen them do an ID card check on people. Have to watch a safety video the first time too. For now it's free, but Army MWR is going to take over operation of the range for recreational use on the weekends and they will be charging probably about $5 per person.

Ok, clear as mud. It seems like a huge hassle. I'm a paramedic. Does that count? Didn't think so.

My Dad bought me a membership to the Oak Ridge range for xmas. I will be looking for a target puller I mean range buddy to go shoot with soon as I go through the membership process. IM me if OP or anyone is interested in going with me, believe I can bring a guest shooter.. I plan on practicing for Service Rifle mostly but have a Savage 110FP that I want to try in F-class, need to do a lot of testing soon as the weather is a little better. Ron
