Hello all, i will be coming down for a weekend soon and would like to know what the law is about possession of handgun In a vehicle?  I tried to read the state laws and did not get a good enough answer for me to feel like I knew what was meant.  Is it ok to have in glove box while driving?   Trunk?  Thanks for your help.

If you have a valid KY carry permit, you're good to go, because of reciprocity.  If you do not have a KY permit, don't!

Edited to Clarify:  Without a permit:

Gun & ammo/mags must be in separate compartments in the vehicle.  This is usually taken to mean gun in passenger
compartment, ammo/mags in the trunk.  A bit more of a problem if you drive a truck, though.

Just a heads up:

If you have a concealed carry license, you can't carry it in restaurants which happen to serve alcohol.   Hopefully, this will be fixed in about 40 days.
