Congrats on your permit.
Now don't leave home without it or your pistol. It will take you awhile to get used to it. At first you are going to feel like everyone can see it, and the desire to fidget and constantly check the gun/holster/cover garment is going to be pretty strong. Just chill and go about your business. 99.9% of the sheeple are way too stupid and/or self absorbed to notice even if you are printing a little. The main thing is to always have it with you wherever it is legal (and sometimes in places where it isn't if the situation requires it). The bad guys are never going to hit you when you are most vigilant and prepared. it will alwasy be on the day that you don't feel like carrying it or you think that you will only be gone for a few minutes. Even around your house, in a home invasion scenario, if you can't put your hands on a loaded and ready firearm within about three seconds, you are probably gonna lose. |

Yep, that home invasion in Eads last month rattled me a bit. Since that i have been armed at my house constanly. I bought me an extra 125 lumen LED streamlight to check my yard when the dogs start barking. I have 3 acres in the sticks. We dont have street lights. I have even talked to my wife again about home invasions and ran thru a few scenarios with her to prepare her and the kids. I did the wally walk tonight. all was good. I did fight the urge to adjust it. After a minute or 2 everything became normal. I noticed that 3-4 position is uncomfy for driving. 3-4 is difficult to access the gun while seat belted in. Does anyone put the gun in the console, etc while driving? Does anyone crossdraw for this reason? |
