Please no Glock slamming. I've looked around and short of a super great deal have decided that I am going to make a purchase of a Glock 21 in .45 acp. This will be my first full size semi-automatic handgun and a large investment for me money wise. now i live in Smyrna (middle Tenn) and am trying to find the best deal.
The specific model I'd like to get will have fixed sights. I'm not sure of the advantages between 'fixed sights' and 'steel fixed sights' as I have seen them both advertised at impact guns, but would like to get night sights if the price is right, but that is not a biggy. That's about it. I called Specialty Arms in LaVErgne and they had a new one for $619 and On Target had a used one for $599 (forgot the new price). Is there any other places you could recommend to try to shave a few shillings off the price. I'm looking for new by the way. |

I believe the G21 is on sale at Academy this week for $499, but I'm not positive. Give them a call, 435-8347 is the number to the gun counter. ETA: Nevermind, looked at the ad online and its the G22. The 21 should probably run you about $569 if they have one in stock. Still a better price than either of the ones you posted. |
| Just sold my G21 (which was about 15 years old) for $450. I bought it shortly after my 21st birthday and it was a great gun. The only reason I sold it was its size made it impossible to conceal carry. It would make an excellent "truck" gun, but since I teach school, that wasn't really an option for me. |

Haven't seen any local G21s, but Aimsurplus has a nice deal on police trade in G22s $350 if you don't mind .40S&W. Plus transfer fee and Tics, you'd have a very nice weapon under $400.
