Did this go into effect immediately, or is there a waiting period. I'm camping this weekend and would like to know.

| Looks like the TN State park website is updated to reflect being allowed to carry. They are very specific about the fact that you DO NOT have the right to discharge a firearm and if you do the burden of proof is on you to prove self defense, which is understandable. |

You are good to go in State parks.
Local parks are still being hashed out prior to the 1 September opt-out deadline. Federal parks will be G-T-G in Feb 2010, when the law becomes effective. Carry could be enable there sooner if the court injunction against the rule change is lifted...but I'm not holding my breath. David www.tfaonline.org |
