Nice. Where'd you get it done? And is that an eagle in the tat above? Looks like the one we modified and used in a custom job about 50 of us got. Can I ask a question without getting personal? What is with all the death symbolism? I walk into walmart / the mall or anywhere that is trying to be trendy selling a sweatshirt, t-shirt or whatever and there is a skull and bones on it. When did death become so cool? Don't get me wrong. I love metal like Megadeth, Pantera, etc. and I get why the imagery is sold or marketed there but as I get older I don't see why it's cool to portray the devil, the reaper or death in some glorified way. The nazi's used the symbol to terrorize yet Gov. Arnold gets away with wearing a SS belt buckle on the cover of time.
Maybe I am more and more distressed by the ridiculousness that is sold to pop culture as cool (I also have tats) but it's getting more and more original not to have ink done |

As we do get older, our way of expressing ourselves change. My way of looking at things is vastly different in my 40s than it was in my 20s or 30s. Societal viewpoints are also forever changing. It's just part of that whole space-time continuum thing. Our fascination with our own mortality has been around since the first human self-awareness. Death will always be a part of life... gotta deal with it. |

I guess it's the same thing with all these sheep out there that wear anything trendy or with a company logo. I just don't get. (By the way, am I a hypocrite for having a HK sticker on my car...probably...DOH!) |

Well lets see....Death is a part of Life....how many folks have Tats of Living things...birds, flowers, ect...anything.......I really don't care what others think of my tat...I take the good with the bad....not that your comment was bad or anything...but why is everyone so scared of death...its only a breath away...and is always right behind us...now don't get me wrong I am not ready to cash in my chips as of yet....but on the other hand I will not live here on earth for ever...my number as is yours are in the the lottery pool......when it comes up its time no matter what we do...its over
Now lets look at the Grim Reaper............. Grim Reaper –– to put a human face on the concept of death The Grim Reaper can teach us much. He serves as a reminder that life is short and to make the best of every day (eat dessert first and dance now), to cut away the dead wood and move ahead. The Grim Reaper also reminds us to care for our dearly departed. Go to the cemetery and tend a grave. Remember those you miss, however painful. And I Lost my Sister and My Brother back in 07........Six weeks apart from each other...she was 50 and he was 38.....Life is indeed short...and the reaper is a reminder of that...do your best be kind to others...Cherish your friends and Family....Live today as if tomorrow will not come...as for most that know me...I am a pretty happy up beat guy .....as for the Reaper for me...Cool looking yes....but more of a reminder that life really is short....don't sweat the little things |

I think it's good to have a reminder of just how finite our lives really are. I like the reaper tat. I also like the symbol above the eagle. Is it Celtic? |

I also like the symbol above the eagle. Is it Celtic?
LOL....well thats a new one There is a old saying ...if a person has a really close friend he is really blessed....well guess I am because I have 2... One came up with the Idea we should have a TAT and each get it....so the other came up with it....hard to see in that Pic....its 3 snakes...each Looking away to cover the other ones back....kinda like each standing with your back to each other in a circle covering each others back......But of course snakes don't stand ...LOL so they are flat doing the same thing...3 friends looking after each other...Brothers...for life....So I guess now that you said it guess it does kinda look celtic....and yes we each have it.......just something by us and for us.....
