I am not aware of any age restriction for the HCP class, but you might call an instructor (or the TDOS) just to be sure. I assume you meant to immediately apply for the permit when turning 21. Right? I wish you could get it that quick, but it doesn't work that way. |

To my understanding, and note that I actually havnt gone through the setup to be able to teach carry classes in TN, is that you probably could. But, I know that at least some instructors specify that they wont teach people under 21, and suggest instead that someone wait.
That said, the cert you get is valid for 6 mo... so I dont know. I would call some instructors and ask. -E |

The permit is a Handgun Carry Permit. Please do not use the word "concealed" in connection with the permit. Far too many people (including some police officers, judging from the incident in Knoxville) are under the false assumption that TN requires concealment, so we don't need to reinforce that by calling it a CCW. |
