A Tennessee House panel recommends allowing people with handgun permits to carry their weapons into restaurants where alcohol is served until 11 p.m.
11pm?
What, are gun owners 16 fucking years old or some shit? What happens to those whom work 2nd shift & don't even get off work until 10:30?

Unfortunately, this would only apply to the larger chain restaurants who close early. I guess all the smaller privately owned delis and snack shops that serve beer would then be considered bars. I guess even a restricted concession is better than none at all. |

I'm sick of half baked, pussyfide laws. You and me both brother... When are the Libtards going to wake up and realize that criminals don't obey the law? Thats what makes them criminals. Limiting my ability to protect myself and others only allows the bad guy to prosper. If these laws were in place the criminals may actually think twice about commiting a crime. And we the law abiding citizens may once again have the upper hand. On a side note: Why go gun-haters always assume someone with a carry permit WANTS to get into a confrontation and take someone's life? These idiots think we want to get into these types of situations, which couldn't be further from the truth. The reason we're pushing for laws like this is to prevent these type of things from happening in the first place. I hope and pray everyday that I'm never in that type of situation but know if need be I can and will defend myself and my family from harm. |

Why go gun-haters always assume someone with a carry permit WANTS to get into a confrontation and take someone's life? Several reasons, IMO. First & foremost is, they don't trust theirselves to CCW. Remember the 1/2 Dozen Mom chapter prez who shot an innocent man because she thought he was the one who hurt her "baby"? Not to mention libtards are normally the first to lose their control in a debate & begin childish name calling & hurling insults. There's always the 1% of HCP owners whom screw the pooch & then become the poster child for the gun grabbers. The Nashville Scene has a "writer" (I use that term VERY loosely) named Jeff Woods who is tracking any & all HCP holder fuck-ups. I posted my rebuttal to his most recent gun grabbing scheme in another post, FWIW. My problem with this so-called curfew bullshit is, what if one goes to a restaurant around 8pm & they're slammed & one doesn't even get seated until 8:45-9:00? What then? What if they're seated at 8:30 & the food is terribly slow in coming out? What then? What if the HCP holder isn't the one driving, what then? We have GOT to put pressure on these room temp-IQ legislators to not add such dumbassed amendments to the restaurant bill! I also urge everyone to write or call to correct ANYONE who calls this bill "allowing guns in bars/saloons" as the Scene does! Let them know we KNOW they're lying full of shit libtard media types & we're calling them on it! My .o2 |

Not to mention libtards are normally the first to lose their control in a debate & begin childish name calling & hurling insults. I've actually encountered a few that admitted that if they carried a gun, it probably wouldn't be long before they shot someone. Then they stated that they couldn't see why anyone would expect carry permit holders to be any different. There's always the 1% of HCP owners whom screw the pooch & then become the poster child for the gun grabbers. I posted my rebuttal to his most recent gun grabbing scheme in another post, FWIW. Speaking of that 1%, has anyone heard a followup report on the incident, just before Christmas, with the carry permit holder at Cool Springs? I was googling for any mention of news on the incident, and I came across a forum posting that supposedly gave 'the other side of the story'. That version of the events was that the woman (woman #1) cut off the van the permit holder was riding in, and almost hit the van. The woman (woman #2) driving the van apparently made a rude gesture at woman #1, then pulled into a space farther down the row. Woman #2 got out and headed for the mall, but was intercepted by woman #1, who started arguing about the rude gesture and threatened violence over the insult. The carry permit holder then got out and tried to calm the situation. He was openly carrying, but never drew the gun from it's holster. Woman #1 saw the holstered gun, then began claiming she wasn't afraid of the carry permit holder and that she also had a gun. After the confrontation broke off, woman #1 called the police and reported that the carry permit holder had drawn his gun and threatened her. Anybody hear anything that would indicate this version of the incident is anything other than speculation? |

Anybody hear anything that would indicate this version of the incident is anything other than speculation? Not that I've heard. I'm thinking that most malls have security cameras that show parking lots now. I bet the bigmouth got shown the video & she changed her story. FWIW, the Tennessean fishwrap has an editorial offering comments from the unwashed masses on the proposed law with the 11pm carry curfew. I urge those whom want to comment to PLEASE be polite, logical & to the point. IOW, everything a libtard isn't. |
| When I went through my CCW class in Florida, it was my understanding that you can carry in any restaurant that serves alcohol as long as you are not sitting in the bar, and you are not partaking. So you could go to Chili's and sit in the restaurant part, and not have any drinks and be perfectly fine. Also, I agree with someone above said, that the libs and gun grabbers want to limit places you can carry only stops law abiding citizens. I had to go to Jared's this week to pick up my watch and again saw their sign banning weapons in the store. I wonder if a determined criminal is going to walk to the door looking to steal some jewelry and sees the sign and decides to leave his gun in the car and then go inside and verbally abuse people in to handing them over. Just amazes me that these people honestly believe that a sign will stop a criminal from doing anything; if they are already going to break one law, whats 1 more. |

So, I guess gun owners turn into pumpkin's at 11:00 instead of midnight?
I suppose it's a step in the right direction. The laws have been taken away from us one step at a time. I guess it's only reasonable that our rights have to be re-instated the same way: One step at a time. |
