| AR coversion wow i really didn't expect to see one of these around here, and that's a pretty decent price is it not? |

From my limited experience it looks like a decent price. In that experience I have also read the bashing threads and the ballistics of the round. Do you know what you are getting in to? Do you have a source for good ammo? Especially check this. A friend of mine is having trouble finding ammo for his PS90. |

| I had no intention of buying it, if i ever bought anything other than 5.56 AR it would be 9mm, so it and my G17 would run the same shit! The price on the rifle was $1,050. the guy also had a rock river with a "light machine gun upper" (looked like they just snapped a big plastic handguard with a carry handle on it.) and it came with a beta c drum for $1700 |

You forgot .300whisper, 7.62x39, .50beuwolf, .204ruger, 6.5grendel, and .450bushmaster .300-221 is the generic (non-copywrighted) version of .300 Whisper. There's also .30 HRT, 7.62x40, 5.45x39, 10mm, .22lr... I think there was a thread, somewhere on arfcom, where an attempt was made to list every caliber that AR's had been chambered in. It was a long list. |

For the record, I dont have a 5.7 upper for the AR platform, but we do have a PS90 sitting in the safe (is my g/fs gun in her mind at least...). I like the round, but it can be pricey, and with only one manuf its kinda fixed in price as well. And can only really be bought on the web in 50 and 2000 rd increments usually. That said it can be fun to shoot, but I dont see spending 699 (the price of an AR 57 upper) on one really. Building a .22, same amount of recoil, and for fun shooting its all about equal. Not gonna get into a tactical argument on the rounds, as all we are doing is range time anyways. I would rather a PS90 than the AR 5.7 uppers, just because the AR platform wasn't designed for it, and I would worry abit on the long term. Looks cool, but is more of a novelty thing, off of ANOTHER novelty item, the PS90. To be honest, aside for fun, the civi uses for one are pretty slim. I know a few people who say its their go to gun in a home invasion situation (receiving end at least), but personally a 12 gauge mossberg is ALOT cheaper to lose to the cops for the scope of an investigation.

Yea Yea Yea all those fancy calibers are nice but... I'm a poor white boy from the sticks who loves his wally world. I can plink and play all day long on $40 in 9mm ammo. the 7.62 is cheap too but... I have only heard bad things about reliable mags in the cal. Buy reloading equipment. Loaded ammo for some of those calibers isn't available, anyway. I'm currently working on making .300-221 brass from Remington .223Rem brass, and .22 Reed Express brass from Winchester .223Rem brass (the .22RE is supposed to be made from 7.62x25Tok brass, but I like to try new things |
| Shoot,I love my 5.7 pistol. Its my main carry gun.I get all my ammo from eliteammunition.com.With their ammo, the ballistics rival and surpase the 9mm.Good enough for me.Most people who bash it,are the ignorant ones.Go to the site and check the ballistics out on the Protector round.Pretty impressive, and those are ballistics out of the pistol, not the PS90. |
