| im going to be near knoxville this christmas to spend time with my son. im thinking of bringing 2 of my ww2 rifles with me in hopes to find a good outdoor range so we can shoot them. what do i need to do to be able to shoot at a range? and does anyone know a good range near the knoxville area? |

There's a nice outdoor range down near Benton, Tn. about 45 mins. south on I-75. Also a nice gun shop in that town...Benton Shooters Supply. If an indoor range is more your thing...than Coal Creek Armory in Knoxville is nice. Don't know about shootin' rifles there, though. |

Coal Creek Armory is an indoor, pistol caliber only range. There is a range out in Halls operated by TWRA that would probably be suitable for the shooting you are looking for. It is very controlled, and last time I was there they were only allowing sit down/bench shooting with no rapid fire. |
+1 It's on Rifle Range Rd. Closed on Wednesday, and the military has it the first weekend of every month. |
