Does anyone know if it is acceptable to Carry inside Gaylord Coliseum(GAC)?

I have my CCL permit.

I am going to a concert next month and didn't want to be without walking downtown and to/from the parking lot.

Anybody know?

thanks

They have signs saying no weapons. Concealed or otherwise.

Seems to me I remember that in my carry class taken this past early spring our instructor said the law had been changed so you could carry where sold but not served. I am not a lawer, so don't take my word on it, look it up for yourself.

It is legal to carry where alcohol is sold to be consumed OFF premises (liquor stores, convenience stores, grocery stores...).
It is illegal (as of now) to carry where alcohol is sold to be consumed ON premises (bars, restaurants, ...).

I would seem that it is ILLEGAL to carry at the Gaylord because:
1. Public gathering
2. Alcohol sold to be consumed on premises
3. Posted (legally?)

It sucks, but join the TENNESSEE FIREARMS ASSOCIATION, and help us 'fix' the law.

A "public gathering" would have nothing to do with CCL being posted or not. A publically owned facility would almost always be off limits in Davidson Co.  GD liberals!!!

it was in the paper (artical about the crappy expensive seats during CMA's). I've been once and no weapons were allowed .they had some really big guys patting folks down and filling barrels pretty quickly with all kinds of stuff. that was a metallica concert around '97

Thanks Bob, I misspoke.

This is what I was refering to. It is illegal to carry:

"On the grounds of any public park, playground, civic center or other building facility, area or property owned, used or operated by any municipal, county or state government, or instrumentality thereof, for recreational purposes."

Regarding posting:

"Notice of such prohibition shall be posted. Posted notices shall be displayed in prominent locations, including all entrances primarily used by persons entering the building, portion of the building or buildings where weapon possession is prohibited. If the possession of weapons is also prohibited on the premises of any such property as well as within the confines of a building located on such property, the notice shall be posted at all entrances to the premises that are primarily used by persons entering the property. The notice shall be in English but a notice may also be posted in any language used by patrons, customers or persons who frequent the place where weapon possession is prohibited. In addition to the sign, notice may also include the international circle and slash symbolizing the prohibition of the item within the circle. The sign shall be of a size that is plainly visible to the average person entering the building, premises or property and shall contain language substantially similar to the following:

Pursuant to ยง 39-17-1359 , the owner/operator of this property has banned weapons on this property, or within this building or this portion of this building. Failure to comply with this prohibition is punishable as a criminal act under state law and may subject the violator to a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500)."
