Anyone going to the fun show in Jackson at the fairgrounds. I gotta get a few beanies and some jerky. Hydrashock, call me when you wanna meet up. See if jmt1271 is gonna be free. Another member, mutonhead will be with us I think. |
| Yes I will be going to the beanie baby/ jerky show. Don't know yet what time but most likely sat. I will say that the last show I went to in jackson was the best I have been to in Jackson, not that that says very much, still nothing close to the pope show, but it is local. |

I'm thinking of heading out there tomorrow. I have enough beanies, but you can never have too many dragon swords and numchucks ![]() Depending on how looped i get tonight (w/ the girlfriend) I'm going to try and get there early. I'll be wearing a tan suede leather jacket. It'd be neat to meet up with a few fellow members. |
I gotta work all day Sat. , im going Sun. if yall dont go Sat. LMK and we will get together Sun.

Went to the RK gunshow today. Saw few true deals and "learned" a couple new things. First off: The beef jerkey lady's jalapeno jerky was very good...moreso because she decided to give out free samples to unsuspecting customers. Secondly: Saw a good used Smith 686 with 6" barrel for 350 bucks which I thought was an excellent deal. Not to mention the front table had new super tiny Keltecs (in multi-color frames for between 199 and 219 bucks..awesome deals for sure, but that was it. Now for the "information" i received: Apparently Doublestar lowers are "better than mil-spec" "because, you know, military contracts are given to the lowest bidder" his rationale, not mine. Yeah the finish looked good and the selector markings and mfg. engravings had pretty colors, but it wasn't worth 129.99 stripped (at least to me).Different vendor equal stupidity: "If you're looking for a new lower, I've got one over here...Rock River and it's got a sweet trigger in it" I asked if it was their 2 stage NM trigger "I don't know, feels like one stage to me...but it breaks like ice " I picked it up and asked if I could charge the bolt to try the trigger (hell, he had me curious...breaks like ice?) which he agreed to. It was a RR 2 stage trigger. Asking price "just for you cuz you seem like a good guy": 650 bucks for the complete lower. His rationale? "that trigger (which until now he knew absolutely nothing about) costs about 200 dollars...they went up". This kinda pissed me off...the guy was lying to my face. I politely thanked him for his time and wished him luck. I did manage to pick up a new range bag (not the cheapies by the door which oddly have no inner pockets) and backpack from the mil. surplus guy at the rear of the building. Range bag is actually a military tool bag, but it's made like a tank and the top opens very wide...actually pretty cool. The guy who was running the booth was very helpful and a pretty damn cool cat. Seemed to know his stuff...certainly the highlight of the trip. BTW: plenty of dragon swords and numchucks for the kiddies...and a potpourri lady ![]() ![]() |

any idea on what that BUIS was in his cabinet. It looked like a YHM unit, but it was marked 152 bucks! I was there with a couple buddies...hung over big time, but I was present and accounted for. BTW: 7 freakin dollars for an entrance fee? I expected a live fire room or something for that. All in all we had a good time...just a little disappointed that I didn't run across more "finds". |
Going back tomorow ? IM me or call my cell#, i gotta go to my nephew's birthday party at 1:30 so i might try to catch it before, just LMK |
Sometimes I can't tell if you're serious or not but I'll take the as a no.The lowers looked good, but the guy's insistence that they "are better than mil=spec" threw me for a loop. He should have dispensed with the marketing shill and given me a straight answer. Did you notice all the pretty colors on the lowers? I thought about asking him if he used the old crayola trick, but figured he'd be a) offended or b) confused. 129.99 + tax (142 bucks) woulda been a bit on the high side for me...especially after catching some of the deals the vendors advertise on this site....hell, I'm spoiled now. |

doublestar is an excellent product and I routinely buy them around here for $99. As good or better than the rest (of course they are made in CT...who do you think makes them). www.mulletsgalore.com if you dare. |
