I went to the Pope Gun Show today. Small crowd, IMO. The usual suspects for dealers, only J&T skipped to hit Knob Creek. Saw a P1/P38 listed at $399 when it shoulda been $299. Bet they take that one home with them. One guy had some GORGOUS S&Ws, pre-war & pre-model number revolvers! When I commented about them not having any tags on them, he said, "Oh, they're not for sale. I just wanted to show them!" My kinda guy!!! I saw maybe 4 or 5 USPs total thru the entire show. Lots of Glocks, Rugers & Taurus. Even saw a few HPs, new & old mfg. Even saw lots of Colt 1911s, including a Gold Cup for only a grand or so. Musta been used? Lots of good buys on knives. I bought my nephew a S&W lockblade for only $10 for his birthday. Yes, I know I'm a cheap bastard. Only thing I ended up buying was 1k rds of Remington .45acp cheap stuff. They were out of PMC & he told me I was luck to get the Remington. Seems the military is buying ammo like a mofo right now? Next show is the second weekend in Dec, just in time for Santa.  |
