some very vague planning and some utterings have gone on in the corners of the tennessee hometown forum, with some mentions of the nashville area. anyone have any thoughts? HKOVERKILL, think you can sweet talk the MSSA crowd, perhaps?

I'm not in Tn, but its only two short miles away. If you put a shoot together on Saturday or Sunday in the Nashville area I couldn't live with myself if I missed it. I'm having flashbacks of Hank's GSFS already.

As a cook, I work primarily on the weekends, but with enough notice, I could possibly finagle my way into having a weekend day off.  Or, I could make it in the morning and would just have to leave in time to make it to work.

I'll be around the Friday after Turkeyday as my girlfriend has to work during the day.

There are some dudes who post over @ rimfirecentral  who periodically meet up in Camden.  They usually have class III stuff too.  We might see about hooking up with them.

Also, I have yet to meet anybody here who is also an MSSA member.   It would be cool to get something going here in Memphis on a semi-regular basis.

...sorry I only "lease" for 60 days a year.....during those 60 days, it is flooded knee deep in water. Wouldn't make for a hospitable shooting enviroment.

Cool instead of just shooting at junk like all the other times, we can shoot at floating junk!

does anyone have a place in mind that may not be underwater?

Maybe at Jeepcreep's farm. I hear UNDERWATER BUMP-FIRING is the latest thing for anyone who is anyone to do.

Maybe after several commit we can find a central location to shoot. Not sure how to work that. Im in Donelson so I am central to pretty much everywhere.

Just messin with ya NewBie. Bring all you can. I would love to see a decent turn out for this.

And dont listen to Hank, NewBies are welcome to come. This might be the only way to get  a few out there since most of the Nashville Members seem SCARED to patrol their local forums..

I'm in Nashville and I'd be up for a shoot around that time, except I'm taking Handgun I at PRI  that Fri-Sat.

now if the shoot is on Sunday, I'll be there. otherwise I'll have to miss this one.

I kinda like that idea. STONES RIVER HUNTER EDUCATION CENTER. I wonder if BobCole can help us in that area? Not sure what can be done for us with multiple people. I would like to group us as close as possible.

Any one reading this please confirm what days are best for you. I can manage Friday-Sat-sun. Matters not. Try to commit to one of these days and we will just let majority rule.

Range will be closed, most likely, the day after Turkey Day. As for group shoot, I MAY be able to help on that.

Yea Im kinda leaning towards Saturday myself.

Bobcole, what do I need to get (info) for you to try to help us? Head count - date, I assume? Thanks

Saturday would be cool, would give us time to get the family stuff out of the way and to give us plenty of time to recover on sunday.

Hey , I'm here now. Everything will be all right. Saturday would probably work for me as well. I just got back my Bushmaster long range rig and my new stuff for my savage 110 FP in .308 just came in yesterday. So I'm itchin' to punch some holes at some distance or at least 100 yds. or so. So keep me posted. Take care.

Since it's not been listed, apparently not.

TWRA Stones River Range seems to be the best bet. Saturday seems to be the day of choice for most folks whom may need to drive in.

Shall we start voting?

that sounds all fine with me...

Do all of the memphis area guys want to pick a time and a spot to meet up so that we can caravan over to the range?  We could probally meet up in the hooters (close to the interstate and everyone ought to know where it is) parking lot fairly early on saturday morning.
11/21/2004 1:13:20 PM EDT
[#44]
hooters, eh? are they open for breakfast?

Personally, I'd suggest Cracker Barrel or Waffle House. I want to avoid even the HINT of anyone around alcohol before a group shoot, thankyouverymuch.
11/21/2004 5:06:21 PM EDT
[#46]
well, if we are going to make it there for a shoot at a decent hour we would have to leave fairly early.  Way before hooters is open, I just figured that this would be a good meeting spot because of the proximity to the interstate, and the fact that anything that even resembles a store parking lot will be crowded at ungodly early hours.

Well this will be my first "shoot"  whats the plan I'm definatly up for it.  Whos gonna show me the secret handshake.

Secret handshakes are so 90's.  Now we taser your puppy.  :)  Dont worry they only twitch for a few minutes.

Sorry, ive messed up my ankle, for being away for a few days. Breakfast? Sounds good to me. Cracker Barrel- Shoneys-AWFUL HOUSE.
As far as the range, I think Stones River would be the best. Would someone like to take it upon theirselves to IM or E-MAIL the ones on this post to get a confirmed count? I would like to but I am limited to how much time I can spend sitting instead of having my foot proped up.
Im in for whatever. Just let me know.
