just got back from gunstock a few days ago. got to meet some folks i needed to meet (including arowneragain, one of our very own TN arfcommers), hook up with old friends made at BRC2002, shot some machine guns, and overall had a freakin BLAST! anyone interested really should get down there next year, it really is worth the (for me, in memphis) 7.5 hour drive. maybe next year we can caravan this volunteer army down and show them texas boys what we got. remember, we were down there with them side by side at the alamo...

dude, if you dont think they can, you need to join me next year and we'll make the trip together. them boys can sure cook the hell out of a brisket, and they even did some pork just dandy! now i dont know if they really have anything on memphis for BBQ, but i hear tell there is a shop or ten worth stopping into down there. |

While I agree that BBQ MUST include pork....... whatever you call it, there were at least 3 seperate instances of well=prepared beef during gunstock. Friday night's imprommptu cookout, saturday's fajitas, and saturday night's feast. Maybe next yeart we could get a group together to bring a few pork shoulders and another smoker, maybe some ribs, show 'em how memphis does BBQ. Call it cross-cultural training. At any rate, Gunstock was a load of fun, and I'm looking forward to next year. |
