I have a couple of down day's during a trip out to Jackson.

Have never been fly fishing, so thought I would try to find a

guide for a river float trip.  Any guides you can recommend.

Trips toward the end of Sept.

Thanks

Hmm...that is a tough one.  Here are a few places to start.  Fishing has been great this year.  BUREC has held off on emptying Jackson Lake but has more or less dumped Palisades.  If you have never fly-fished before I would recommend taking some casting lessons first before getting on a boat.  It will save you a lot of frustration.  Jack Dennis (the guide service, not the retail store) offers lessons and boat trips.  His link is first.  I have linked other guides and shops here that can hook you up.

If you want a guided trip you most likely will be fishing the Snake River from a drift boat.  This is best enjoyed as a two person experience.  Avoid the guided trips on the Grand Teton Park section if you are new to fly fishing (faster waters and precision casting).  The "South Fork" of the Snake which runs through Swan Valley, Idaho is legendary in the fall and very beginner friendly but not as scenic as the park stretches.  Truly there is no bad stretches of river between Jackson Lake Damn and the South Fork but some are better than others.  Links below. Good luck, have fun.  If you have more questions let me know.
