Coming through on a trip to Utah, and looking for a great place to eat that is not a chain restaurant.

The SO and I are open to any type of food, lets get some suggestions!

Naked Noodle - Probably my favorite, The Garage, Burger Bobs, La Parilla, all less than $10

Frank's (amazing sandwich shop but is only open till 6),

Montana Ale Works - I haven't been there in a while but burger and sandwiches are around $12 I think,

Over the Tapas is really good but the portions are small you are really supposed to order a few things between the two of you and share them (each entrée is about $8),

Sorry I just thought of some more

Santa Fe Reds - Mexican on North 7th

The Wok on 7th is good Chinese food

It all depends on how much you want to spend and what kinda food you're looking for.  Personally I love The Garage (on Main, it has burgers and sandwiches and really good soup) and Naked Noodle (a bunch of different noodle dishes Italian, Asian, ect.)

Where is Franks?

The Pickle Barell has great subs.
lunch/dinner out at the Corner Club in 4-Corners (burger fries style bar)
Mama Mac's in 4-Corners has great breakfast/lunch food
Main Street Over Easy is good for breakfast but usualy packed... there is a better place a couple of blocks east from them but the name escapes me right now...

Frank's  He mainly does catering but just happens to have a sandwich shop, bad customer service but when you get your sandwich it's really good.  Frank himself is kinda weird and sometimes will forget about making your sandwich so you have to remind him which is frustrating.  It's back on Babcock and Wallace where Babcock ends right before the Library.

Main Street Over Easy is pretty good but it can get really packed, you can go to the Cateye Cafe which is one block off Main on North Tracy, but again it could also be packed.  As rcurrier stated Pickle Barrel is very good for sandwiches.  Rcurrier44 I have never been to Mama Mac's or the Corner Club and I will have to try them out thanks for giving me an some ideas for new restaurants to try.

I'd suggest Montana Ale Works on Main Street just off of I-90.  Food ranges from burgers to good steaks.  Plus, the beer is served cold, if you like that sort of thing.

Daves Sushi is a great, very reasonably priced sushi joint.  My favorite place in town.

If you are looking for dinner and don't mind a little jaunt out to Manhattan, <30 miles,  I'd say that you need to have a steak at Sir Scott's Oasis. If you're staying overnight in Bozeman, get up early and have breakfast at the Western Cafe.

It's been two years since I was in Bozeman, hopefully both of those places are still up and running.

[span style='font-weight: bold;'] Western Cafe.

That's the one I was thinking about....  Just like the Oasis (the Oasis and Land of Magic are great stake houses) it's a real down-home style place to eat and is not the fake-Montana/ski resort type of restaurant that has taken over Bozeman.
