| Just heard from my aunt that the fire came down closer to here than in 84. Wish i was there to see it and help. Damn state let the fire get away. They said they had to leave at 5:30 and another crew would show up. While they were gone the other crew did not show up on time. 11/2 hr between the fire grew. She has a ranch in the Bull mountains. |

ok i figured that is the fire you were talking about. i was one of the initial attack resources on that fire. we gave it 4 hard days of work then it was turned back over to the volunteers. state had control of that fire for only a couple of those days. the day it blew out they experienced 50+ mph winds on the fire. there was nothing anyone could do at that point. when we left that fire the day b4 it blew out it was dead. there was no visible smokes on that fire. the area were it was thought to have blown out of was on the side where the MIF (Indian crew) was working. it was in the switchbacks and apparently something rolled out on that side down into the green. we went back and put in a 46 hour shift on the day of the blow out. finally got pulled off the lines with some other resources came in. |

fire was originally contained at 300? but i would have to look to make sure. it didnt get big until that wind event happened. only thing i can think you can be referring to is when the vols were still patrolling it and one engine may have left and another was suppose to change out with them |

ok so the fire started on August 22 and was contained/controlled on the 25th. the day of the 26th which was a Tuesday was the day it experienced the high winds and it blew up to 4200 acres. from there it experienced high winds and eventually ended up being 102k now which day are you referring to? |
