I am coming down to SLC in a week to visit some family and do some shopping. Does anyone know if the Gateway mall is posted as to not allow concealed carry on its property? I was told that they were talking about doing it but havent heard anymore about it.

Any info would be appreciated.

I've been told that it is posted but I have never seen a sign at any of the entrances.

Yup, even if posted it doesn't mean squat here. Just like at Trolley Square. The only no-no's are secured area's (Like after security at the airport), and LDS temples and church's.

The second your gun is seen you'll be asked to leave. Open carry is legal but trespass laws are enforced before open carry laws.

Posting "no carry zone" carries no legal weight here in UT. You can be charged with trespassing if you don't leave after being asked or charged with disturbing the peace if you're being stupid about it.

Hide it and the law is on your side. UT is one the most gun friendly states in the Nation.

In Utah, any open to the public area, that is not otherwise an off limits type place, is good to go.

The signs have no legal binding authority whatsoever. I consider them helpful suggestions.
