I really need to restock my dry pack food storage. For anyone that has been to the LDS church's dry pack facilities, this is much easier when done in groups. Is anyone in the area interested in getting together as a group to go do this? The following dried food items can be done at the center: Apple Slices, Hot Cocoa Mix, Vanilla Pudding, Great Northern Beans, Macaroni, Soup Mix, Pink Beans, Non-Fat Dry Milk, Spaghetti, Pinto Beans, Rolled Oats, Sugar, Refried Beans, Dry Onions, Wheat, Carrots, Potatoes, White Flour, Fruit Drink Mix, Chocolate Pudding, White Rice. Anyone interested speak up and let's see what kind of interest there is in this. I'm not sure what their schedule is, but a quick phone call can answer that if there is enough interest. |
We're moving to Boise in July. Let's go to the bishop's store house then! In Eugene, OR, we'd get a group of men together to pack whatever was on the schedule at the time, and then spend $$ on cases of everything on the way out. It was a lot of fun! I've been in Southern California for the last four years, and here they do the canning at different people's houses. It's just not the same. |
I like those and the dried apples. We eat a lot of rice and pasta so those are good too. The soup isn't the best straight out of the can, but add some meat and it's tolerable. It would keep you alive though. |
