Going to be in the Lima, MT area 10-12 Nov and am trying to find a camp ground to stay at that is not closed for the season. I know Staddard Cr is closed, would prefer to camp in ID but want an area within 50 miles of Lima, MT. Anyone have any suggestions? I want to ike during the day. THanks

What kind of campground are you looking for......primitive, bathrooms, RV hookups...??

I don't think there any developed campgrounds near Lima, but maybe up around Dillon about 40 miles further north. However, you'll have to be very lucky to find a spot anywhere in that area of MT that time of year due to being in the middle of hunting season. As, a matter of fact, I'll be Elk hunting about 10 miles S-SW of Lima from Nov 1st thru the 12th.

Keep in mind, there will be a fair amount of hunters in the woods, and you may very well get into sub zero temps and snow as well. I'm not trying to discourage you, but I hate to see people get surprises on their vacation.

I hunt the area from Lima S-SW to the Idaho border that time every year. If you have any questions about the area let me know.

Tent camping. I was thinking around Bannock state park too.
