Hey everyone,

I live here in Klamath Falls, OR.  During the Spring I shoot these suckers:

(Rock Ground Squirrels)

I will be travelling to Bozeman this summer.  Does Montana have anything similar for me to shoot??

Thanks.

I am willing to travel for exploding squirrels.

Montana is overrun with these little bastards.  i went out with 500 rounds of xm193 to a ranch on sunday and came home with none.  left a lot of blood and guts behind me though.

Ahh the ever favorite exploding target - Potgutius Americanus - Orgonian : Fidel - yes these creatures are known to live in Rocky Mt. states - as a result of the dry years and breeding cycles it does appear Potgutius Amreicanus - Utahian is in the lower end of population cycle this year in No. UT / SW Wy. region - however with all the rain and grass the back end of the season could be good.

May I ask where you ventured in Montana.  I could start guessing, but your state is fairly large.

I don't know about that. I know a place in mid-west UT where these guys (and sage mice) are everywhere.

Yeah but we call them gophers.

Ask the locals, they should be more than happy to tell you where the little bastards need to die.

Dang, looks like about 3 hours from Bozeman.  I wonder if there are any closer like southeast of Stanford on Highway 191....

P.S.  When you're in the country, what is speed limit?  And what is the usual speed for when you are out in the middle of nowhere?

Hello,  I recently moved back to Great Falls from Washington (where they don't have ground squirrels and don't allow shooting of Jack Rabbits).  Coincidently I was raised in Klamath Falls and Lakeview so I'm really itching to get back to varmit shooting.
The speed limit on two lane highways is 70 MPH in Montana.  Montana does not require a hunting licence for hunting varmits like Oregon, and if you are real fortunate, youu may find some rock chucks or a praire dog town

Yeah, I just love when you would arrive in a farm field near Klamath Falls and the ground would be a living sea of squirrels running around.
