| I have an Oregon CHL, and I would like to add a Utah CHL. Together they would allow CC in a total of 35 states. There is a class in town on Wednesday for Oregon and Utah CHLs and I was wondering what the process would be to add Utah. I'm going to call the guy that's giving the class tomorrow, but I wanted to gather some info before I spoke with him. |
| It's a very easy class. You bring in a check for Utah and they send your picture and info to Utah. I believe they have a 60 day process and you'll receive your Utah ccw. It's a 4 or 5 year card IIRC. Bryan Mumford does the class on Sunday's out near the airport. I can pass you his info if you'd like. The wife and a couple of friends did the class a couple months ago. |

Utah permit is straight forward. Take the required class, submit paperwork, fingerprints and picture then wait for your permit to be approved and mailed to you.
I recently moved and submitted my new address to Utah Firearms Section Bureau of Criminal Identification so that when it comes time to renew my Utah concealed weapon permit I receive the notice at the correct address, and I received a reply within 24 hours that they had updated my address...simple process and great customer service. |
